When investing in a large scale FTTH project, it is important to conduct a feasibility study to determine the potential return on investment. This involves analyzing the costs and benefits of the project, as well as assessing the market demand and competition.

Hexvarium developed a unique approach which combine financial modelling, outside plant network design, capital budgeting over time and market analysis to determine the feasibility of a large scale FTTH project.

The first step in this process is to gather data on the project, including the estimated cost of construction, equipment, and ongoing maintenance. This data is then used to create a financial model that takes into account the initial investment, operating costs, and potential revenue from subscribers. The model also considers factors such as inflation, interest rates, and tax implications.

All of this was only possible by using BigQuery, a cloud-based data warehouse provided by Google. BigQuery allowed Hexvarium to store and analyze large amounts of data quickly and efficiently, making it possible to create accurate financial models for large scale FTTH projects.

Combining this with network design software, Hexvarium was able to create a detailed plan for the physical infrastructure of the project, including the placement of fiber optic cables, equipment, and other necessary components. This information was then integrated into the financial model to determine the overall cost of the project.

In addition to the financial analysis, Hexvarium also conducted a market analysis to determine the potential demand for high-speed internet in the project area. This involved researching the demographics, competition, and current internet infrastructure in the area. This information was then used to estimate the potential number of subscribers and revenue for the project.
